I stumbled across this site looking for information on sound card drivers for a E430 Lenovo. Mine came with a Conexant combination driver with Dolby Logic app. But seems to not always play well with iTunes. So I have been looking for the type of sound chip it uses. For now I just uninstalled the Lenovo driver and allowed Windows to install a driver. It works better but of course I lose some of the features like Dolby. However I do realize why Lenovo uses the Dolby application to tailor sound. Because the sound chip is dreadfully bad sounding without the Dolby equalizing application. In all honesty this sound chip is bad even when playing through a decent pair of headphones. Many reviews give the Edge E430 good marks for sound. But give that praise to Dolby for improving the sound with extreme equalization.
