I want to install XP on my Lenovo G550, but I did find two partitions on disk C = 30GB D = 30 GB and 180 GB unformated.
Is this necessary ?
Can I remove all these partitions and instal XP on a disk C ?
I don't understand for what are these partitions
What you are seeing is the Windows recovery partitions. You can wipe them but then you wont be able to use the built-in recovery system. You probably have Windows 7 or Vista on your machine to begin with, what you should do is create factory restore discs before continuing the installation of Windows XP. There is a utility included which does this for you.
