This laptop has BIOS whitelists for both Mini PCIe slots!

However, the Intel WLAN cards shipped by HP are not branded, so it should be possible to install “normal” Centrino Advanced-N 6205 or 6300 cards. (Confirmed PCI ID for 6205: [8086:0085] (rev 34), subsystem [8086:1311])
Atheros cards do seem to be checked against HP-specific subsystem IDs, this is not verified however.
