Discussion
According to http://www.asus.com/Notebooks/Multimedia_Entertainment/N61DA/#specifications
this laptop has a 2-year warranty. When we bought it, we got an e-mail from Asus saying it had a two year. We live in the states. Here's a quote from that page:
“2-year limited International hardware warranty. *different by country”
When the hard drive died, we contacted them. We had to contact them multiple times. They didn't respond to our e-mails at first. We finally called and talk to someone just to have them tell us it only had a 1 year. We told them about the website and they said it was wrong. We asked to speak to a supervisor. They told us none was available but they'd call us as soon as one arrived. We never got a call. It's been a few months now.
I run an at-home computer repair business. I have always recommended Asus products to my customers. I have built multiple rigs for various people including business owners in my community. I will not recommend them anymore.
